About Vita Nova
Vita Nova Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity that has worked to address the high priority needs of Palm Beach County's adolescents and their families since 1999. Vita Nova's original mission and intention, under the name of Renaissance Village, was to construct, operate, and endow an academic and vocational boarding school for socially and economically disadvantaged students. Towards this aim, Vita Nova empowered thirty-seven (37) inner-city faith communities to establish successful neighborhood-based services and served more than 2,500 children and their families.
Unfortunately, the Campus was not successful in securing entitlements and Vita Nova was forced to table its original vision. Still choosing to work with adolescents and young adults who faced difficult life challenges, Vita Nova revitalized its core mission to address the dire and urgent needs of foster youth and homeless young adults.
Through the generous support of individuals, corporations, and foundations, Vita Nova purchased, renovated, and furnished, a formerly neglected apartment complex in West Palm Beach and accepted its first residents atVita Nova Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity that has worked to address the high priority needs of Palm Beach County's adolescents and their families since 1999. in December of 2005. In 2007, Vita Nova purchased the adjoining apartment, expanding our program to 25 onsite residents. Vita Nova Village also plans to expand further, offering other residential options in the future and increasing our capacity to 30-40 residents.
Also in 2007, Vita Nova purchased a commercial property at 3129 South Congress, to serve as the Vita Nova Thrift Store. In April 2008 the thrift store opened and now serves as a venue for inexperienced youth to engage in work readiness training for future educational and employment endeavors.
In 2009 Vita Nova was awarded the contract to provide independent living services to all foster care youth in Palm Beach County aged between 13-23. Vita Nova Independent Living Services was created and now provides comprehensive programming to over 500 youth.
Vita Nova looks forward to pursuing new ventures to help youth reach adulthood, living independently and making its mission at reality.
