Jose Coto is the General Manager of Engineering for the Power Delivery business unit of Florida Power & Light Company (FPL). He is responsible for the engineering of distribution, transmission, and substation facilities. He is also responsible for siting and permitting activities as well as records. Mr. Coto was named to this position in November 2013.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Coto served as General Manager of Engineering for the Transmission & Substation business unit. Earlier in his career, Mr. Coto held various management positions related to project management and engineering. He joined FPL in 1978.
Mr. Coto holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Miami and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida. He is certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
